DroneRoute ("we", "our", "the service") is an open-source drone mission planner created by Ferran Basora. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

1. Data we collect

When you use the cloud-hosted version at app.droneroute.io, we collect:

• Account information — your email address and Google account identifier, provided through Google OAuth when you sign in.
• Mission data — waypoints, points of interest, obstacles, and flight configuration that you create and save.
• Basic analytics — anonymous page-view data collected via Plausible Analytics (privacy-focused, no cookies, no personal data).

2. What we do not collect

• We do not store your Google password. Authentication is handled entirely by Google.
• We do not use tracking cookies or fingerprinting.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How we use your data

• Authentication — your email and Google ID are used to identify your account and protect access to your missions.
• Mission storage — your mission data is stored so you can access it across sessions and devices.
• Mission sharing — if you generate a share link, the mission becomes accessible via that link to anyone who has it. No personal information is exposed in shared missions.

4. Third-party services

• Google OAuth — used for authentication. Google's privacy policy applies to the sign-in process: policies.google.com/privacy.
• Plausible Analytics — privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics. plausible.io/privacy.
• Fly.io — cloud hosting provider. Data is stored on Fly.io infrastructure.

5. Data retention

Your account and mission data are retained as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.

6. Self-hosted instances

If you self-host DroneRoute, no data is sent to us. Your data stays entirely on your own infrastructure. This policy only applies to the cloud-hosted version at app.droneroute.io.

7. Children's privacy

DroneRoute is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
